Plain Full Grain Leather Care Feathers
Our products are made by hand with the utmost attention to detail. Slight differences between the items are part of their nature and make each one of them unique.
Made from full grain leather and dyed turkey feathers. Finished with a cotton lining.
The feathers are sewn on by hand. Because of how fragile they are, we recommend being particularly careful while using and storing the product. The feathers can’t come into contact with water or moisture or else they might lose their shape and the dye could start to bleed. To clean them, shake them out or use a soft, dry painting brush. It’s normal for the feathers to fall out during use.
Since this type of leather is a delicate material after some time, some natural wrinkles and marks may occur, as it’s a natural process.
Clean the leather before each subsequent impregnation. Use a damp cotton cloth, optionally with special detergents for removing dirt from this type of leather. Do not allow excessive moisture. Once dry, the item can be greased with cream, wax, or other product designed for full-grain leather.
Avoid contact with water. If your item becomes wet, wipe the leather with a soft, light tissue to absorb the liquid. It’s important to be careful when it rains. Bad weather, humidity and heat can damage the leather irreversibly.
Dry at room temperature, away from heat sources. The use of an electric drier can damage the leather.
Keep away from other materials to avoid the risk of discoloration. It is best to store the item in the cloth sack included. You may also want to stuff it to avoid deformation.
Avoid carrying heavy objects. They may deform and stretch the leather.
Watch for discoloration that may occur on the leather, especially if it becomes waterlogged.
The metal finishings might get scratched, discolored or fade with repeated use.
