Spring/Summer 2025

Our summer 2025 collection transports us to Wilanów, a district on the edges of Warsaw, the city where Chylak was created and where it is based out of today. The flowers and vertical stripes in our collection were inspired by the traditional folk outfit from Urzecze, the ethnographic microregion that includes Wilanów.

We were also fascinated with the traditional celebration of Pentecost on the Vistula, a river that runs through the region and is an integral part of its culture. This religious holiday stems from folk rites associated with spring and awaiting summer. Locals decorate boats with leafy branches and handmade paper flowers. We’re thrilled to showcase customs cultivated so close to home.
Shawl with Wilanów-style Embroidery
In collaboration with embroiderer Marianna Król we created a shawl that reinterprets traditional ones worn locally. It is adorned with Wilanów-style embroidery which uses only black or brown thread. The embroidery is always based on floral motifs, which often join to form a tree of life, a symbol of the cyclical rebirth in nature. In 2020 Wilanów-style embroidery was included in Poland’s national list of intangible cultural heritage.
