Founded in Warsaw, Poland, CHYLAK specializes in luxe but affordable, timeless leather bags and accessories. With the highest quality leather and hardware sourced from Italy, the bags are made in Poland with the highest attention to detail and quality of craftsmanship. In 2023 Chylak launched its first shoe collection, handmade in Italy, in a small, family-owned workshop. Every piece from each collection is hand-stamped with a gold series number.

The brand was founded by Creative Director Zofia Chylak who was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland. Before launching CHYLAK, Zofia trained as an art historian, specializing in the Northern Renaissance. The history of clothing continues to inspire Zofia to this day. Zofia’s background and training in design included a term at both Proenza Schouler and Nicolas Caito, New York’s most well-known pattern-maker, before returning to her hometown of Warsaw. In 2014 Zofia launched the brand CHYLAK which would go on to establish Warsaw as a new fashion capital within Europe.

“When designing a bag, you can’t only think about its appearance. Today, a bag is more than just a pretty accessory. It’s an object that you use, that should fulfil specific requirements. It’s important for me to combine form and function, so that every bag is practical and attractive. As well as both timeless and fashionable.”

In 2015 CHYLAK was named “Brand of the Year” at the Elle Style Awards in Poland. The brand went on to quickly gain international cult status among press and celebrities including Alexa Chung, Edie Campbell, Felicity Jones, Adwoa Aboah, Emma Roberts, Margot Robbie, Lucy Boynton and Poppy Delevingne. Initially selling exclusively online at their website, following waitlists of over 15,000 the brand went on to partner with international stockist Net A Porter in 2018, followed by Moda Operandi, Galeries Lafayette, Printemps, Rinascente in 2019.
