Bobowa Lace Care Instructions

Products from the Chylak Heritage line are made by local artisans with great attention to detail. Slight differences between the products are part of their nature and make each one of them unique.

This linen thread product is handmade using a bobbin-lace technique traditional to the town of Bobowa in southern Poland. The starch gives the product its stiffness: with time, the fabric will soften. We recommend taking the item to a dry cleaner, or washing it by hand. Following hand-washing, soak the still-damp product in starch if needed. Before it dries, iron it on high through a lightly dampened cotton rag.

Do not wash in the washing machine. Do not bleach, tumble dry or steam, dry flat. It’s best to store the product in the provided box.
